Eddie Murphy is celebrating a new addition to his family and a special connection with fellow comedian Martin Lawrence. The actor and comedian shared that his son, Eric Murphy, and Martin Lawrence's daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, recently welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Ari Skye.

Murphy saw his life and career flash before his eyes thanks to a starry program and clips from his hits as he received the AFI Life Achievement Award: "I wish y'all can feel what I'm feeling, see what I'm seeing.

During his tribute, Thompson gave credit to Murphy for blazing his trail as a 19-year-old joining SNL ’s cast in 1980 and setting the precedent for others to do the same. Thompson didn’t need to break out his French accent as Jean K Jean for any false fanciness, and instead spoke from the heart (via THR ), saying:
