Max Headroom Incident: November 22, 1987. During a WGN newscast, Chicago viewers watched in shock as their TV screens went black and a masked figure dressed as Max Headroom appeared. The pirate broadcast lasted less than a minute before being cut off. Later that night, the same figure returned on another channel, mocking broadcasters and acting erratically.
